They are available in nine sizes with decrease ratios from 3:1 to 600:1 and output torque capacities up to 16,227 lb.ft. Fewer parts also offer small packaging compared to bolt-on reducers. Bolt-on gear-heads regularly use right-angle gears to reduce the space a reducer extends beyond a machine. Right-angle gears, however, require an additional group of bevel gears to help make the convert.
